And they also direct their own films. Dobrev made her debut as a director at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival this October, where she premiered her first short film, The One . Shot right before the beginning of the pandemic, at the end of January 2020, Dobrev's "baby" is set in the near future and makes a comment on modern day fertility and the morality behind the technology that accompanies it—whether or not it's okay. "It's literally my baby," blushes Dobrev, "I co-wrote it with Will Frank, who is a friend of mine, and directed it, and produced it, and so now, finally, after such a long time, I am excited to present my baby to the world, and hopefully they receive it well."
