Sorry 'Strays,' This Is the Best Film With Talking Dogs - Collider

The Big Picture Homeward Bound stands out as the golden standard for talking pet cinema with its phenomenal voice acting, beautiful live-action composition, and heartfelt depictions of the animals. The film's authenticity, using real animals and capturing breathtaking shots of the Oregon backcountry, creates a rich and natural look that sets it apart from movies relying on CGI. The script of Homeward Bound is sweet, funny, and relatable, making endearing use of its non-human protagonists and their animal minds, showcasing their emotional journey and devotion to their human family. Universal Picture's Strays is in theaters now, and it will certainly be interesting to see what Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx do as voice actors in an R-Rated movie about talking dogs. Though perhaps an original idea for adult audiences, anthropomorphized pets is a concept that's been explored through cinema since the silent Rin Tin Tin pictures of the 1920s. O...

‘The Peripheral’ Canceled; Prime Video Not Proceeding With Season 2 Amid Lengthy Strikes - Deadline

Image
EXCLUSIVE : Prime Video will not be going forward with the previously ordered second season of its sci-fi drama series The Peripheral , starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Deadline has learned. I hear The Peripheral is not the only Amazon scripted series whose renewal has been rescinded and there is at least one other series that won't go to a second season. According to sources, the cancellation stems from the length of the work stoppage due to the ongoing WGA strike, now in its 109th day, and the SAG-AFTRA strike, in Day 36, which have delayed production, creating large gaps between seasons and making shows miss their target release dates. While this is the first known case of a renewal reversal amid the current strike, as Deadline reported earlier this week, there may be more series whose renewals could be rescinded or pending pickups not happen if the work stoppage stretches past Labor Day, with freshman series going into Season 2 t...

Michael complains he's not allowed to attend the wake, but with his associates from the Donnelly gang there, Ridley's not about to be lenient. Besides, he has his family's grave to visit. He's not the first one to stop by either, fresh flowers from the gang, signed "Adam Donnelly," are already resting there. Ridley: Michael Flannery has nothing to do with this.
