The creepy reason Anthony Hopkins's Hannibal doesn't blink - The Digital Fix

Image
Anthony Hopkins made a movie villain for the ages when he starred as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. It's long been speculated that Hopkins didn't blink once while in character during the horror movie, and in a 1992 interview on the Dick Cavett show, he gave some insight into why he did this, and what influenced his decision to incorporate non-blinking into his characterisation. "It's much more fun playing villains; there's much more dimension to it," the drama movie actor explained. "I met a madman who was on the loose in London and that was pretty scary." He continued, "I had coffee with him one day, and I realised just how nuts he was. He never blinked. He kept asking me questions and before you could answer he'd ask you another one, and then another. In the end, it made you feel as if you were living in a different reality." Deepfake nightmare for women: Ads swap Emma Watson, Scarlett Johansson faces on sexually suggestive videos - DailyO

Image
In the past week, several users of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger came across ads for a deepfake app called Facemega.  Being able to easily use a deepfake app seems fun. After all, we have seen many videos of deepfake Robert Pattinson acting hilariously.  But the ads for Facemega showed just how sinister the use of deepfake can be, something that the creators of the app didn't even try to hide.  Advertisement The ads showed the faces of actors Emma Watson and Scarlett Johansson being swapped onto a sexually suggestive video without their consent (obviously) with just a few taps.   This was initially flagged by a Twitter user: It isn't just the case where celebrity pictures have been deepfaked into pornographic content.  Earlier this month, several popular female Twitch streamers said they felt violated and used after finding out that a fellow male Twitch streamer created pornographic content using their faces without ...

How Bella Thorne Is Reclaiming Her Image - The Mary Sue

Image
Bella Thorne is refusing to sign autographs on images of herself she deems inappropriate, particularly those of her when she was a teenager, and I love that for her. She recently told The Hollywood Reporter about an exchange she had with an autograph seeker at the Sundance Film Festival: It was this guy and he was shoving photos in front of me and I looked away for a second and looked back and there was a photo of me from my  GQ  magazine cover. It's super sexy and my butt is out and I'm wearing lingerie and I'm topless. I said I wouldn't sign that and he took it away and then put it back in front of me again. I said, "No, I'm not signing that." He pulled out another photo of a magazine with another sexy image. He was like, "Come on, Bella. Sign it for me." I didn't like it. It was inappropriate. There was some stuff there from a Candies campaign that I did when I was 16 and it was clear that he wanted me to sign things ...
