Meghan Markle Baby Watch: She May Be Having Twins! - The Hollywood Gossip

For the record, we have no idea whether or not Meghan Markle is some spoiled brat or diva.

We've heard the same rumors as you about her dragon-breathing ways and how she has allegedly forced many underlings to quit in disgust.

But we cannot verify this troubling chatter.

Also for the record, we do not know for certain whether Markle is having a boy, a girl, two boys, two girls or one of each gender.

Kensington Palace has released a couple statements regarding the Duchess of Sussex's pregnancy, but has yet to confirm Meghan's due date or anything else about the impending child.

Still, despite that long preamble, we are prepared to announce that Markle and Prince Harry may, indeed, be expecting TWO babies.

Yes, twins.

How incredible would that be?!?

The possibility of Markle having twins has been broached before, of course.

There have been endless tabloid stories alleging this is most definitely the case, in fact.

But the odds now seem stronger than ever because an Irish betting company, Paddy Power, has stopped taking bets due to a sudden surge in people placing money on the possibility of twins.

“An unprecedented amount of bets on Meghan and Harry to have twins has forced us to stop taking bets on the market altogether,” a spokesperson for Paddy Power told Us Weekly.

This individual adds:

"Since the day began, the stream of bets has led us to believe that perhaps the punters - or an insider source - knows something more than we do."

Right, exactly.

It's conceivable that a bunch of people are just taking wild guesses about the whole twins thing and that many wagers being placed on this transpiring is a totally meaningless sign of ... absolutely nothing.

HOWEVER, it's also plausible that someone has inside knowledge of Markle's bloodwork (a hospital employee, perhaps?), has passed the word around and this surge in betting is actually very meaningful.

According to The Today Show, the odds of Meghan and Harry expecting twins reached a high of 5 to 1 before the option to place bets was suspended on November 23.

If the famous duo were to have twins, it would mark the first time this has happened in the British Royal family since the Queen of Scotland Joan Beaufort gave birth to twin boys ...

.... way back in 1430!

Markle, whose baby bump is huge these days, is reportedly due in early May.

This would mean she's entering her second trimester and, due to her age, she probably does know whether she is having multiples or not.

By medical standards, the 37-year old Duchess is actually considered "geriatric" and has most likely undergone several tests just to make sure everything is going smoothly.

On the couple's recent tour, Prince Harry told fans in Fiji last month that “everyone is predicting” Meghan is pregnant with a baby girl.

During the couple's stop in Sydney, Australia, an onlooker yelled out, “I hope it’s a girl,” to which Duke of Sussex declared: “So do I!”

How cute, right?
