Tekashi69 Gang: We Tried to Murder 50 Cent! - The Hollywood Gossip
In case you've remained blissfully unaware of the Tekashi69 situation, allow us to briefly fill you in on the latest antics of the hip hop world's answer to Sparkleshine of My Little Pony fame.
Obviously, this man has been a baffling presence on the public stage since we first became acquainted with his ridiculous name and arguably more ridiculous appearance.
But at first, most dismissed him as the latest in the long line of literally colorful, pharmaceutical-fueled emcees to emerge from the bullet-riddled wasteland that is America in 2018.
In recent weeks, however, Tekashi (nee Daniel Hernandez) has proven that his commitment to self-destruction and bad decisions rivals that of the most legendary dead musicians.
On November 19, Tekashi was arrested in connection with an incident in which he allegedly fired a gun during a robbery.
That might sound like pretty typical rapper shenanigans, but that's just the tip of the iceberg for the esteemed Mr. 69.
Tekashi was already on the hook for another robbery (that he allegedly filmed) and a sex tape featuring a 13-year-old girl (in which he allegedly appears).
And believe it or not, the ongoing investigation into the rapper's life and crimes keeps unearthing more violence and insanity.
The latest comes us courtesy of transcripts from a wiretapped phone call between two of Hernandez's associates, Kifano “Shotti” Jones and Jamel Jordan both -- like Tekashi -- thought to be members of the New York Bloods.
Transcripts from the call already revealed that Tekashi was almost murdered by his former gangmates.
Now, it seems they may have actually taken steps to do so, almost offing a rap icon in the process.
Back in August, we reported on a shooting on the set for a Tekashi music video, which also featured an appearance by 50 Cent.
Now, it seems the attack may have been orchestrated by Jordan and Jones, who bragged that one of their hired guns “flipped the clip at the video shoot.”
No word on whether the Bloods were involved in a different shooting on a Tekashi video set, this one taking place on November 9, and endangering the lives of collaborators Nicki Minaj and Kanye West.
Thankfully, no one was injured in either attack.
Interestingly, Hernandez's former crew seems to have nothing but contempt for the rapper.
In one segment of the phone call, they can be heard insisting that Tekashi is no longer a member of the gang following anti-Blood comments he made during an appearance on The Breakfast Club.
“Just tell that n--ga that he not a gang member no more. He kicked out the whip," Jones stated.
Jordan replied that the rapper “was never a gang member.”
So it sounds like Tekashi won't be safe even in the unlikely event that he's released from prison.
But hey, on the upside, Hernandez's new album is selling so well he was able to gift his girlfriend with a $35,000 Rolex for her birthday this week.
That was nice and all, but he should probably saving that cash for legal fees and protection behind bars.
