Demi Lovato: YES, I'm Still Dating Henry Levy! - The Hollywood Gossip
It's been over a month since Demi Lovato left rehab following a 90-day course of treatment.
The singer checked in back in July after suffering an overdose that nearly claimed her life.
Needless to say, fans are deeply concerned about her well-being and eager for reports on her condition.
Sources close to Lovato have mostly maintained that she's fully committed to the hard work of recovery.
But that doesn't mean there isn't cause for concern.
For most addicts, recovery is not a straight line, but a winding path with many ups and downs.
Celebrities are not exempt from these struggles, and several insiders have indicated that Demi's family fears she's "falling back into her old lifestyle."
To be clear, no one is alleging that Lovato is back on drugs.
But there are reportedly concerns that she's spending time in the company of people who may prove to be bad influences.
Demi is currently dating Henry Levy, a fashion designer and fellow addict whom she met in rehab.
Like Demi, Henry has been in and out of rehab multiple times and recently suffered a deeply concerning relapse.
Those in the early stages of the recovery process are discouraged from forming new romantic relationships with anyone, and they're strongly discouraged from doing so with other addicts.
So it's not hard to see why Demi and Henry's relationship has been a cause of concern for many within the singer's inner circle.
In recent weeks, there have been reports that Demi and Henry have broken up, but Lovato dispelled those rumors on Sunday with an Instagram story in which she kisses Levy while the two of them are aboard a private plane.
“Demi and Henry enjoy spending time together and are casually dating," an insider recently told Entertainment Tonight of the relationship.
"Demi and Henry started out as friends but quickly realized they had a lot in common. Demi feels comfortable with Henry because she doesn’t have to hide her past and can be honest with him about her addiction and recovery."
For her part, Lovato has not spoken out on the relationship or her recovery.
She has, however, strongly encouraged fans and the media to back off:
"I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don’t believe what you read," she recently tweeted. "People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening. If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF.
"Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine.
"I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME."
"Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up sh*t that you know nothing about," Lovato went on.
"I still need space and time to heal."
We wish Demi all the best in her continued recovery.
