Jennifer Lopez Proves There's No Use Trying to Trick Ellen DeGeneres - E! NEWS Posted: 16 Sep 2019 06:02 AM PDT There's no fooling prank master Ellen DeGeneres. The comedian is known to stun and scare her celebrity guests on her long-running talk show, but on Monday, Jennifer Lopez took a stab at tricking the host during a round of a new game, "The Voice...on the Phone." The concept of the game is simple—a celebrity calls in and disguises their voice, leaving DeGeneres to guess who it is. On the end of the line, the mystery star began with a high-pitched accent and the host asked if the person was a comedian. "Yeeeessss!" the celebrity squealed. "Tell me a joke," DeGeneres requested. The person on the other line was at a loss for words and started laughing. Unfortunately, it was her tell. "I already know who it is by the laugh—it's Jennifer Lopez," the host declared. Never one to miss the chance to ask what we're all wondering, DeGeneres soon started questioning the Hustlers star about the rumors of her performing at next year's Super Bowl. "A lot of people are asking me that," the triple threat told her. "I don't know yet. I don't know." Still, the host ran with it. "Breaking news—we're the first to tell everyone," she joked. "We're setting the intention." Guess we're stuck waiting for tonight—er—next year to find out. |
Beverly Hills realtor busted for breaking into celebrity homes - New York Post Posted: 23 Aug 2019 12:00 AM PDT A Beverly Hills real estate agent and another man are accused of burglarizing the homes of celebrities, including Usher and Adam Lambert, often during open houses in tony Los Angeles neighborhoods, prosecutors said. Real estate agent Jason Emil Yaselli, 32, and Benjamin Eitan Ackerman, 33, have been charged with several crimes in connection a series of house thefts between 2016 and 2018, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Prosecutors allege that Yaselli directed Ackerman to steal luxury items from more than a dozen homes and sell them to make payments on the real estate agent's credit card. Through the scheme, the duo allegedly raked in more than $500,000. "In many instances, the pair allegedly identified the targets or committed the burglaries during open houses in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Brentwood and Hollywood Hills," the district attorney's office said. Among the victims identified were musicians Usher and Lambert, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" stars Paul and Dorit Kemsley, as well as former NFL player Shaun Phillips. Both men face charges including money laundering, residential burglary and identity theft. Ackerman, who was arrested Aug. 16, has pleaded not guilty. Yaselli was arrested earlier this week at Los Angeles International Airport and is expected to appear in court Friday for arraignment. If convicted, the duo faces up to 31 years and eight months in prison. |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 06:00 AM PDT Posted: Updated:(NEXSTAR) — We're welcoming a new face to our programming lineup. "The Mel Robbins Show" will air each weekday starting Monday, Sept. 16. Ahead of the premiere episode, Robbins sat down with us for a one-on-one interview to explain what the show means to her and why she thinks it will resonate with viewers the same way she's been able to impact the lives of millions through her book 'The 5 Second Rule," global motivational speeches, and popular social media accounts. She says they're so popular because they're her real life–not a highlight reel. "I'm using humor and relatability [on social media] as a way for you to think about your own life and relationships differently, and I'm constantly reminding you that your only job is to be you and to listen to your intuition and to speak from the heart," Robbins elaborated about her social media presence. Robbins says the show will be the same thing–no celebrities, no breaking news, no politics. The Mel Robbins Show will be about real people who are struggling with what Robbins calls "rock in the shoe" issues–issues that she says don't necessarily require months of therapy, but rather can be solved with just a little extra help. "Every day on 'The Mel Robbins Show,' you are going to see yourself at least once. You are going to laugh at least once, and you are also going to learn something every single day," Robbins stated. "How can I say that? Because I learned something every single day that I can apply in my life." Mel says some of those "rock in the shoe" problems they'll be tackling on the show include trying to form meaningful relationships with your kids or grandkids when their faces are always buried in their phones or starting an encore career in the current job climate. "Life is overwhelming. You feel lonely. You don't know how to do an encore career. You're not quite sure how to deal with issues around parenting today. You're struggling with addiction. You're struggling with grief. You're struggling to move on after divorce. I get it, and 'The Mel Robbins Show' is a show that's going to help you navigate the things that life throws at you," she elaborated. Don't miss 'The Mel Robbins Show,' premiering September 16th at 9am on ABC50. |
