Joaquin Phoenix's 'Joker' laugh spawns celebrity meme mania - New York Post

When the "Joker" movie dropped to much acclaim, reviewers promptly noticed that it was conspicuously — albeit purposefully — short on laughs.

However, the internet meme machine wasn't going to miss the chance to add its own brand of humor — by swapping out Joaquin Phoenix's "Joker" cackle for some of Hollywood's most famous guffaws.

Suffice to say, these A-list celebrity overdubs have social media in such stitches, you'd think the Clown Prince of Crime blasted the Twitterverse with his laughing gas.

This one featuring Seth Rogen's stoner chortle has already spawned more than 300,000 reactions:

"Saturday Night Live" alum and "Barry" Emmy winner Bill Hader's high-pitched giggle was similarly jarring:

However, rap queen Nicki Minaj's swap-in might be even more terrifying than Phoenix's original:

Ricky Gervais' shrieking cackle was obligatory:

Samuel L. Jackson or Eddie Murphy, anyone?

And for a complete mind-melt, Harry Styles:

Of course, no re-dub recap would be complete without the ear-splitting titter of Jabba the Hutt's intergalactic lap dog, Salacious B. Crumb.

New Lifetime Christmas movie on the way from CNY couple - syracuse.com

It's not Halloween yet, but you may want to start making plans for the Christmas TV season now.

A Central New York couple has written another Lifetime Christmas movie that will be airing early next month. "Christmas Reservations," starring Melissa Joan Hart as an event coordinator named Holly (of course), will premiere Saturday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.

Here's the synopsis for the movie:

It's Christmas at the Treeline Ski Resort, where Holly (Melissa Joan Hart) is the event coordinator at her family lodge. She plans every event and keeps all the guests happy. But when her college sweetheart, ("Desperate Housewives" actor Ricardo Chavira) now widowed with two children, checks in, Holly discovers she has her own reservations about life and love.

The cast also includes Ted McGinley ("Married... With Children"), Michael Gross ("Family Ties") and Markie Post ("Night Court," "There's Something About Mary"). Deanne Foley directs.

"Christmas Reservations" is written by Juliet and Keith Giglio, a pair of professional screenwriters who live in Manlius. They told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard that they got the idea for the movie while "kicking around ideas" with Hart, playing around with the multiple meanings of the word "reservations."

"We love the movie 'Love Actually,' and we love that complicated plot with multiple storylines. Some people have reservations about growing old, or being a parent, or love," Juliet said in a phone interview.

They love skiing, which led them to the idea of characters making travel reservations at a ski resort. "Christmas Reservations" was shot in Lake Tahoe, known for its ski resorts; the couple got to visit the set during filming.

The Giglios previously wrote the 2018 Lifetime movie "A Very Nutty Christmas," also starring Hart of "Clarissa Explains It All" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" fame. Hart is an executive producer for the films with her mother Paula Hart under the Hartbreak Films banner.

"Christmas Reservations" is the second movie Juliet Giglio has written together with Keith, her husband of 30 years, since moving from Los Angeles to Syracuse eight years ago. Their credits include "Joshua," "Noah," "Return to Halloweentown," "Tarzan" and "Pizza My Heart"; Keith Giglio also worked on Disney's "A Cinderella Story" and "Another Cinderella Story."

Keith said they moved to CNY to teach screenwriting; he's a professor at the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, and Juliet does the same at SUNY Oswego. They wrote a book together, "Proof of Concept: Writing the Short Script," which is used in classrooms across the country.

"It's great to share with our students and talk about what we're doing," they added.

They also love being able to continue writing for Hollywood while enjoying the seasons in Manlius. The couple said they have two more projects in development.

"We love the snow. The snow's a great time of year to get a lot of writing done. We become very productive in the winter," Juliet said.

"Christmas Reservations" is part of Lifetime's "It's a Wonderful Lifetime" holiday television lineup. More than two dozen new Christmas movies will begin airing on the network Oct. 25.

Keith marveled at how Lifetime Christmas movies have become almost their own genre of film.

"Christmas can be a special time, and that's why these movies are so great," Juliet said.
