Fans remember Sushant Singh Rajput on Shuddh Desi Romance, Chhichhore anniversaries: ‘May he find happiness wherever he is’ - The Indian Express

Actor Parineeti Chopra remembered one of her favourite co-actors, Sushant Singh Rajput, as their film Shuddh Desi Romance completed ten years of release on Wednesday. The romantic comedy, helmed by Maneesh Sharma, was released on September 6, 2013. It also marked the Bollywood debut of actor Vaani Kapoor and revolved around three youngsters and their tryst with love and commitment. The day also marks four years of the late actor Sushant's other film, Chhichhore.

Parineeti shared footage of the film and wrote along with it, "Time really flies! A decade to this film but the memories are still fresh. This movie was a journey full of laughter, hectic shoots but heartwarming moments. 💕What an experience shooting this film with such legendary actors. Rishi sir we miss you. Sushant, miss you even more. You were one of my favourite co stars. #10YearsOfShuddhDesiRomance."

As Parineeti refreshed the memories of the film, fans of Sushant remembered him fondly. The actor died in June 2020. A fan commented on Parineeti's post, "The charm of this movie was God level… Missing Sushant Singh Rajput…❤️." Another fan added, "Miss you ssr." A comment read, "Miss him so badly @sushantsinghrajput ❤️❤️." Shuddh Desi Romance marked Sushant's second film after Kai Po Che. Both films were released in 2013.

Four years of Sushant Singh Rajput's Chhichhore

Meanwhile, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari also went down memory lane and shared pictures from the set of Chhichhore, which was released in the cinema halls four years ago, on September 6, 2019. The photos feature the entire cast and crew of the film having fun on the set. Taking a line from one of his film's songs, Tiwari wrote on Instagram, "'Woh Din Bhi Kya Din The' My heart is full of wonderful memories and gratitude for all the love 🙏 #4YearsOfChhichhore."

Actor Varun Sharma dropped several heart emojis on Tiwari's post. Fans of Sushant showered their love on him. "Sushant ❤️❤️❤️❤️," read one comment. Another fan commented, "Missing you Sushant❤️." A fan also wrote, "He looks very happy in those pictures; may he find happiness wherever he is now." "Movie is best but sushant singh rajput is bestest," a fan added.

Chhichhore emerged as the Best Film (Hindi) at the 67th National Film Awards. Upon the win in 2021, the film's producer Sajid Nadiadwala dedicated the award to Sushant. "On the behalf of NGE I dedicate this extremely prestigious award to Sushant Singh Rajput. We can't get over his loss ever but I sincerely pray that this award gives a little bit of happiness to his family and fans which includes me. And I am tremendously grateful to Nitesh Tiwari for giving us all this very special movie," he said.

Chhichhore is a story of seven college friends who, after having a gala time during their student life, reunite in their older days.
