  • Kim Kardashian is suing iHandy, the creators of the Sweet Camera app, for $10 million.
  • Sweet Camera allegedly used one of Kim's photos without her permission to advertise their app.

Just when we thought that Kim Kardashian couldn't possibly get any richer, of course, we were all terribly wrong. Kim is likely going to add a whopping $10 million dollars into her already infinite bank account because she is getting ready to sue the crap out of a makeup app that used her image without her permission. It's tricky stuff, but don't worry—allow me to break it down for ya!

According to a TMZ report, Kim is filing a lawsuit against iHandy Ltd., aka the makers of the Sweet Camera photo editing app. It's a popular app that allows its users to manipulate their facial features and apply makeup to capture "perfect" selfies. Some of the features that it offers are "professional beauty and body retouch tools, including face life, smooth, concealer, slim, and more." But despite everything Sweet Camera offers its users, it took one of Kim's Instagram photos that she used to promote her own beauty line, KKW Beauty, to promote its app. You literally cannot make this sh*t up!

It's obviously no secret that Kim has one of the most famous faces in the world, but the people at iHandy claim that they had no idea that Kim was the woman in the photo. In the lawsuit, Kim's lawyers said that the "Defendant claims, absurdly, as its alleged defense…that they didn't know that the unlicensed, unauthorized photo they knowingly stole and misappropriated was that of [Kim Kardashian West]…one of the most famous and recognizable women in the world." I mean, yeah…that's honestly a really terrible excuse, LOL.

And if that wasn't bad enough, iHandy allegedly threatened to go after Kim if she decided to file a lawsuit, which is rude considering they took her pic. Kim's lawyers said that iHandy "had the audacity to threaten [Kim Kardashian West] not to bring claims against them for their blatant infringement, or they would go after her."

The $10 million that Kim is suing for would include the cost of licensing her photo and using her image and likeness. In addition to that, Kim is also asking that the company pay her back any money or profits that iHandy made from using her photo to promote the Sweet Camera app.

Given the evidence, it sounds to me like Kim might be laughing her way to the bank—you know, as per usual.
